The story:
This is my fourth annual Mojave National Preserve trip. The Preserve is my favorite national park.
I currently live in Omaha, so getting to the Preserve, although not inherently difficult, proved
more expensive and more mentally challenging than prior trips. Instead of driving, I flew and
got a rental car. Planning was also tricky; you never really know who is going to show until
they do, and I didn't really want to spend a week in the desert alone.
As fate has it, many good friends showed up, and we saw and did a lot.
