Darkling Beetle: Insecta > Coleoptera > Tenebrionidae > Eleodes armata
Sometimes known as a stink bug. This one is in its defensive posture, about to spray a smelly fluid on us.
I was honored that it thought us a threat.
At one of the gates, I check the strength of the poles.
Dead trees. If you look closely, you may see the purplish hue on the ground. This is due to thousands
of small purple flowers.
A fine specimen of Hedgehog cactus.
This is what it looks like close up.
Bunny rock.
I said to Tim, "I think there is something up there." So we went up there, and there was
a water catcher. There were a lot of tarred seams.
The water that it caught was a somewhat murky brew.
Continuing our hike, we saw a small creek begin from nowhere, cut through the land, then end nowhere.
I accidentally caved in the sides several times. Oops.
