Tina and Tone next to a rather large juniper.
The cement wall is actually a tank. I set up my camera on the wall of the other side of the tank, then
hopped the wall, ran over, and almost had time to prepare for the shot.
Of course, this meant I had to go back to get my camera, so Tina posed on the tank wall.
This was an active windmill. It made all sorts of excruciating noise in the wind. I could
hear the water flowing into the nearby stainless steel tank. I like the way the sky looks
on this particular shot.
Getting toward 10:00 a.m., we head back. Along the way is an area of white mud cliffs. Tina took this shot
of me goofing around.
This shot of Tina is one of my favorites. A good pose, a good background, very artistic.
David was at the campsite when Tina and I returned. The group decided to go hiking at Teutonia Peak.
Along the way we saw Cima dome. Where is it in this picture? It
is the picture.
Cima Dome rises nearly 1,500 feet above the desert floor and is over 75 square miles in size.
This round bubble of rock (a pluton) is the home to a large Joshua Tree forest.
(See joshua tree forest details)
April is a good time of year to check out the desert. Some cacti are in bloom. This cactus had little red buds.
