Broken diving board
The diving board is broken. Concrete without support isn't the best way to make a diving board.

Desert studies center
The Desert Studies Center from the far side of the pond. A lone coot swims across.

Dragonfly
Golden dragonflies abound on the far side of the pond.

Desert studies from above
David, who has studied at the Desert Studies Center, takes us for a little hike up and above.

Group shot
Group shot: Tone, Tim, Tina, David.

Soda springs campground
There is a campground for RVs nearby.

Dust devil
A dust devil on Soda Lake. The wind can be fierce in the desert.

Next we headed to Baker to get gasoline. David talked to the ranger at the visitor center who told him there were a few things of interest North of Baker. We headed in that direction to take a look.

Tim dodder
Tim investigates the orange parasite: dodder. Tina said that an area of Murreita, when she returned from her trip, was ravaged with this orange nasty.

We stopped at the Salt Creek Hills.
(See Salt Creek Hills sign)
