Eventually, we reached the Cliffs of Despair.
The Cliffs of Despair from another vantage.
Junipers abound in this area.
Tim at sign five. We didn't see signs one through four, but hey. We are getting close to the
end of our hike. We both contended that the end closest to Hole-in-the-Wall was the more
interesting. It was good to finally get this under out belt.
There were two jackrabbits. I tried to get closer to take a decent picture, but they scurried off.
This shot was at full magnification, both optical and digital zoom.
I drove Tim back to his car at the beginning of the trailhead, then we said our goodbyes, and I
headed to Primm, NV. Whiskey Pete's is more expensive than previous years, a whopping $30 for
a night. It was so delightful to take a shower after being in the desert for six days.
Next morning I headed to Las Vegas to fly back to Omaha.
Overall it was a good trip. This was the fourth year I made it to the Preserve . . . I hope there will be more years to come.
