2007 September
A few pictures I took up Mt. Wrightston w/ Bill.

It is wildflower season in Madera Canyon and the Santa Rita mountains.  We hiked through fields of flowers.  Perhaps 1/2 of the buds weren't open yet; so, probably some time this week the flowers will be in full bloom.  I am not sure what kind of flower this is.

With a little patience, I was able to take a picture of this butterfly.  Or is this a moth?

We saw lizards every few steps.  Although abundant, they were very skittish.

Another type of lizard.

The view below sort of looks like the painted desert.

Josephine Peak has a lot of yellow coloring from the prolific Golden Eyes.

I took about a dozen pictures trying to capture a hummingbird moth.  They move so very rapidly.  This was the best I could get.

Butterfly.

Bill walking through wildflowers and burn area.  I liked the contrasts.
