A few pictures I took on today's hike. Yes, lots of flowers. They
don't move, so I am able to capture them more easily than lizards. I
did see lizards, but they were skittish. Lots and lots of spiders.

There were spider webs all along the trail. I found a stick, actually a woody, lignified vascular thingee from a saguaro cactus, to clear the spider webs before I hit them. Even still, I got all sorts of web on me. You know, you don't get to use the word lignified very often in every day conversations. ![]() Yellow butterfly. I like the thin veins going through the wings. ![]() Spider with meal, or is that poop? ![]() A different spider. ![]() Yellow cactus flower. I saw a bee go into one of these flowers. He didn't just stand there to gather pollen. No, he went right insides and immersed his whole body in the stuff. It was like gluttony or something. ![]() Black butterfly. ![]() Fish hook cactus flowers. I rather like the colors. ![]() I only saw this one pinkish-white flower. Apparently the pollen is a rich red color. |
