2010 Southern USA Road Trip
These are the images I took with my point-and-shoot camera,
only. This was because my NetBook was not powerful enough to
manage raw .NEF files from my good camera.
This road trip lasted 23 days. I put over 5,000 miles on my
car, possibly 6,000. I traversed nine states. I picked
up a friend in Texas and another in New Mexico. We met old
friends and family. We saw national parks and forests.
We stayed in copious hotels. I even attended a Glühwein
social in Austin. My car essentially broke down once. I
got to go caving, see caver friends, make new caver friends.
The original plan was to stay in the southern states. Having grown
up in Wisconsin, I have had my fill of cold, snow, and dreary skies.
Fate had other things in store for me.
The last few days on the road, I drove back to Florida alone.
I was glad to finish the trip.
The images all reside in Facebook galleries that I mostly posted
while on the road. You don't need a Facebook account to view these
images, but it couldn't hurt.
