Where does an elk poop in the woods? Anywhere it wants to.

Spotted coral-root orchid (Corallorhiza maculata) is a member of the Orchid Family (Orchidaceae). It is also known as dragon's claw.

We hiked to this small field. As we were chatting, we saw a gal get up, look at us, then run away. We later found out that this was Amanda's friend Susie who thought we were someone else.

Next day was research day. We stopped along the way to the research site (just beyond Weed, CO) to take a few scenic pix. Alisha and Amanda with a Colorado view.

After going back and forth a few times to pick up forgotten papers and such, we made it to the research site where we planted the water dispensers.
