Palo duro
We started our journey on Sunday, June 25th. This was shortly after both Alisha and my birthdays. I convinced Alisha that we should see Palo Duro along the way. This added a bit of driving time, but I think it was worth it.

This roadside picture wasn't quite Palo Duro, but it did show that we were getting close.

There is a bird flying toward the top of this colorful spire.

Palo duro
Finally, we do reach Palo Duro. It is starting to get late, so there is less light. Still, it is a beautiful place in the middle of a monotonous panhandle landscape.

Palo duro green tree
A decidedly green tree.

Ants
We hiked for a few hours. In the field just beyond the parking area there were ants, ants, and more ants. I took a photo or two, but kept my feet moving. Some ants sting people.
