The drive from the border to Bustamante hosts a few attractions. One is this shrine to death.
Alisha stands next to the shrine.
Barbara inside the shrine to death reading the words on the wall.
This is the view driving into Bustamante. This mountain scene is used
on a particular brand of Mescal.
Parque Canon Ojo De Aqua.
This is the entrance to the canyon park in which we camped. It costs 30 pesos (about $2.75) per day per person
to camp here. The guard at the gate carries a gun.
After our long drive, it was nice to sit next to the river and relax.
Goats pass through the camp from time to time.
John T. takes a relaxing swim in the tepid waters.
John T. and Barbara at the campsite. Dinner this night was my infamous spaghetti. The
infamy is derived from the fact that I somehow didn't get out of my chair to make it.
Nico lives in Mexico. I had met him on another trip to Bustamante. Nico speaks English
very well. He also knew the way to the Red Room in the cave, so he was our guide.
