Group
My comrades on the path: Alisha, Amanda, John T., and Tina.

Butterfly 2
A monarch butterfly is on the right. The butterflies on this trip were not very willing to have their photos taken.

Santa elena group shot
A nice lady took a group shot for us at the end of the trail, at least as far as we went. I reciprocated the effort by taking a photo with her camera for her and her family. I also cleaned her lens for her.

We headed out of Santa Elena Canyon back to the vehicle.

Luna
Driving along Old Maverick Road, and unimproved road, we came upon Luna's Jacal. Pictured is Gilberto Luna who raised a large family in a small home called a "Jacal."
(See Luna's Jacal sign)

Luna's jacal
This is the Jacal, side view, while Tina peers inside.

Luna's jacal
Inside Luna's Jacal.

Budding pad
A budding Prickly Pear cactus pad. This is one of my favorite pictures of the trip.

Stillwell store
Final trip day, we made our last stop at the Stillwell store. Stillwell's was a great place to camp because: John T. is looking at the resident cat while drinking his morning cola.
