At the end of our Grapevine Hill hike was "balanced rock." We climbed to the top because that is what you do in a situation such as this. Here Amanda poses.

Alisha also wanted to be on the top of the rock. Getting up there wasn't too much of a problem, but getting down was tricky.

John T. suggested that when Amanda descended she looked like the Garfield stuck to a windshield. She told me in E-mail several days later that she was beginning to heal nicely.

I noticed this plant on the way back to the vehicles. I even stopped in mid conversation. I thought it looked like a mountain mahogany, but after looking up different species, I decided against.
