At what is Alisha pointing?
At that point, I was seriously jonesing for some hiking, and the pseudo-cinder cone was in the
distance. I suggested that we go check it out. People agreed. In my enthusiasm, I ran to the
cone, but I stopped to take a picture of the rest of the group approaching.
And here is my quarry—a sand cone! It turned out to be colored sand alongside the sandstone ridge.
I had the rest of the group go up to the top of the sand cone so that I could take a photo.
Then I tried to take a group shot by putting the camera on automatic. I did my best to join the group, but
the duration of the timer was too small for the distance I had to travel. This is the point at which Alisha
would call me an "old man."
Tina, Alisha, and John T. coming down the sand cone.
The day was getting hotter, and we were getting hungry, so we headed back to the car.
Along the way, John T. spotted a lizard with one leg missing. Maybe John T. was
hungrier than we knew.
The poor little creature didn't try too hard to get away.
Alisha investigates our lizard friend.
