Summary
Big Bend National Park 2006
Big Bend National Park. This is the biggest National Park in Texas. It is named
because of the "big bend" of the Rio Grande river around this area of the state.
It borders Mexico on one side and the U.S. on the other.
I had been dreaming about Big Bend well before even moving to Austin. Ever since my trip to Texas
in June of 2005, I wanted to see what this park had to offer. It is desert and mountain terrain
coupled with a river separating two nations. Amanda had shown me pictures from one
of her trips there, and I was hooked.
Four people accompanied me to the Park—Tina, John T., Amanda, and Alisha.
We had exemplary weather,
saw some amazing sights, had fantastic camp food every night, and overall had a great time.
See some images of the trip.
