Pipes you wouldn't normally see. The River Walk has no handrails in certain sections like this. Sure, you can't fall very far, but it is interesting to see a place in America that doesn't limit for the all-powerful liability.

Some plantlife was flourishing in the heart of winter.

Flowers too! Although I suspect that these are brought in frequently.

A prop in the muck! There are barges that go up and down the river during business hours. Apparently one of the barges didn't go too far beyond this point.

Workers are working in the drained river area. This section is much lower than the River Walk.
