Our guide was very old. So old, in fact, that he worked firsthand in a mine (not this one) in
days gone past. He shows us some drills that were used.
This is the dynamite pattern used to blow out a seven foot hole.
Elevator signal signs. "Bell" is a bit of a misnomer. They actually hit a part of
the elevator shaft with a steel pipe or some such thing.
We finished up the tour of the mine and decided to head back to Tucson rather than
stay.
We passed through the Mule Pass Tunnel. I took this shot while driving.
Facing the setting sun, I took this shot of mountains by cupping my hand over the camera.
The mountains are beautiful in Arizona.
Julie is a bad influence on me, but at least we don't buy one each. We split a Heath Bar Blizzard
from Dairy Queen. While Julie was paying for it, I grabbed it and laughed maniacally while
heading out. Julie later told me that the lady at the counter thought that was funny.
Next morning in Tucson, I wanted to see the downtown when things were open. I'm
sorry to say that downtown Tucson was not all that interesting on this crisp morning.
We did stop at the visitor center and got a bunch of information on the area.
The Wilde playhouse. That's a good sign.
Walking around, we saw the Ronstadt Transit Center.
And this ornate church.
