We ate some breakfast at the Big Sky Cafe. There weren't a lot of options because, I guess, it
wasn't a tourist day. Afterward, we continued walking.
We walked a long way. We made it to the Cochise County court house.
Julie and Tone take a picture with the big mountain 'B' in the background.
The Jonquil motel has a most interesting mural on the wall.
We stopped in the Metalmorph shop. There were some interesting metal objects for sale. There
was also this bizarre statue/sculpture.
By this time, we had finished our walk by returning to the rental car. I wasn't
certain that I had hit all of the city, so we took a drive. The road continued
upward, which gave us this shot of the city below. We turned back.
I parked the car near the visitor center. We went inside to look around.
I told Julie I was going to go back to the car and crash for a while;
she continued to look around.
Eventually she came back to the car laughing. I didn't quite understand
what she was saying, but I grabbed my camera while wiping the sleep from
my eyes. This is what she saw.
Outside the town, opposite the direction we originally walked, is the Lavender Pit Mine.
We walked over to take a look.
The Lavender Pit Mine.
Lavender Pit sign.
