Summary
Devo 2004

The protagonists in this adventure are as follows:
Lotto bought tickets, didn't see show
Tone yours truly
Dave P. Dave, Lotto, and I were in a band called the Hornets circa 1984-1985
Tom H. Dave, Tom, and I were in a band called Spontaneous Generation circa 1990

Devo is a band from childhood of which Dave P. and Lotto were huge fans. Lotto, who works with me, asked me if I wanted to see Devo, and I replied "sure." He ordered the tickets, and I didn't hear much more about it for about a month. Dave P. was to join us; he picked up two tickets of his own, one for himself and one in case his wife could attend.

As the impending day approached, we found that Lotto wasn't to make it. Dave said that his wife couldn't go either; so he passed his spare ticket to Tom H., a friend/guitarist we knew from college days. Tom and I hadn't seen each other in years.

The concert was on a Friday night at 8:00pm in Chicago. I convinced Dave, who lives in Kansas, that we should fly out of Omaha rather than drive. I just couldn't see myself enjoying a concert after a multi-hour drive, especially when airfare was only $112 round trip from Omaha to Chicago. We booked tickets on Southwest airlines to Midway, Chicago with a return trip the next day.
