back to Mojave National Preserve
Lunching at the fort. There wasn't much shade, so we all crowded along the one wall.
Except Bill who was banished to the chimney.
The fort had a corral. When we first got there, there were numerous vehicles parked
there. Apparently there is a road to get to the fort.
Rob shows his honor scar.
We headed back to the vehicles using the alternate route. This went through a wash
and eventually led us to the Piute Gorge we had seen earlier.

You can barely see him, but Rob made it out first. He took the real path.
Next day, we headed to Hole-in-the-wall. The dirt road getting there sort
of sucks--too many ridges. Hey park service: get a grader. I stopped to
take this mesa shot.
About a 1/2 mile from the Hole-in-the-wall visitor center, I saw some
white mud cliffs. I stopped to take a few shots.
