I hooked up with the good folk of the SoCal Hiking Group for a New Years group camp that couldn't be beat. There were a lot of people who showed up at different times over the long weekend, both new and familiar faces.

• I arrived Thursday night.
• Friday the "A" team climbed Indianhead. A handful of us dined at Junior's in town.
• Saturday's group explored Slot Canyon, then enjoyed the off-roading capabilities of 4x4 trucks. A Mexican Pot Luck made a fine feast.
• Sunday morning I lazily headed back to the high desert.
