back to Virginia Lakes 2003

Rick picked up Ed and I in New Haven. We ditched our cars at the Sand Canyon Vons. Rick drove both ways.

It was a long ride (about 7 hours for me). After we checked into the motel, we had some food at Nicelys, then adjourned at our deluxe accomodations. A few other hikers joined us for some pre-sleep conversation.

Rick is relaxed.

The next morning we drove to our starting point. The road wasn't clear, so we parked in the lot and got ready to hike the road.

Just about everyone is ready for the hike.

Group shots are essential. I seem to be missing from this shot, but never fear, there is always the next shot.
