Sharp peak in distance
During the first hour or two, we played tag with a couple. I recall that the guy had a metal stud in his chin. They would get ahead of us, or fall behind us. As we were looking at this sharp peak, the guy said "it calls to you, doesn't it?"

Scenic waterway
This scenic waterway was astonishingly and acutely beautiful.

Scenic waterway
The same scenic waterway. On the way out of the park, there was a fisherman standing in the river wearing waders. Tim said that it would have made a great picture, but neither of us had our camera on that leg of the trip.

Meadow view
Continuing down the John Muir trail, we saw miles of meadow with mountain backgrounds.

Trail
The trail ambled through many types of terrain. The trail seemed to be cut; it was three to four inches deep and perhaps a foot across. I realized after a few days that it must have been the horses hooves that cut such an exacting trail.
