The Salton Sea beach at the Salton Sea Recreation Site. It does look like white sand, does it not?

This is the visitor center. They close at 3pm, so we did not visit. Notice that we did not escape the wind, but fortunately where we put our chair we were somewhat blocked from the effects.

After the sun had set, certain mountain retained some brightness.

Orocopia Mountains / Mecca Hills behind us (opposite the setting sun).

There was a congregation of birds most of the while Tim and I were there. Suddenly they took flight.
