After much trial and error, we finally were able to follow a wash to the top
of a mud ridge. The wind is blowing significantly; Tim is pressing on.
More mud rivulets.
I saw a few bees throughout the day. We were lucky enough to happen upon
these hanging bee combs. There were no bees nearby; perhaps they were
seeking a bear on a balloon.
I suppose if there are no flowers, there are no bees.
After the Mecca Hills, we headed toward the Salton Sea. It's sort of odd getting
there because you end up backtracking on hwy 111. The beach seems like white
sand, but notice that it is really shells.
