Tone holds a chunk of lava rock on top of a cinder cone with another cinder cone in the distance.
I called JD on my cell phone. He suggested that I have a picture taken of myself while
he yelled "I am Kirok" over the phone. JD is the one.
Another cinder cone shot.
We camped at a roadside campsite that evening. One benefit is that it is free.
One drawback is no water. Tim climbs the granite rocks that are the wind break.
The roadsite does have one amenity—a fire pit. The previous tenants decided
that the best way to put out their fire was with dirt. So, there were great
scars in the earth and far too much dirt in the firepit. I cleared it out
before making a fire.
A Joshua Tree within an entire grove of Joshua Trees at this roadside campsite.
