Early morning, our campsite is chilly. This is Tim next to the tent.
The campsite is like many other National Park car-camping campsites.
This is a smashed cactus. I believe I told Tim when we found it that I would name this picture "The Cactus
That Tim Smashed" or some such thing. It was like this when we found it—I swear!
Tim has much patience when taking photos. The desert landscape diversity is evident around him.
These are some granite rocks that captured our attention. This is the type of
formation you would expect at Joshua Tree NP. We eventually meandered in this
direction for a bit of climbing.
These cholla (?) cacti are pretty interesting. They are basically hollow with a
fleshy exterior. Their skeletal remnants are tubular with holes. This is a
cactus in transition.
