Coastline Vegas Trip 1999
Big Shot
At the top of the Stratosphere are two rides. They are the roller coaster and
the "Big Shot". I think we were at the 109th or 112th floor to access the rides.
This is a photo from outside the Stratosphere on that floor looking up at the ride.
The view of Las Vegas from a roller coaster at this height is phenomenal. Methinks
that is JD's skull on the right. The roller coaster was ok, but it was nothing to
write home to mom. You need to be pretty relaxed with the notion of putting your
life into the hands of people who have designed this thing. Just remember that
you are closer to heaven if you die.
This is the roller coaster.
The "Big Shot" was a ride unto itself. At first you might not be thinking that
it is any big deal. Here is a picture of yours-trully getting onto the ride and
have a good time snapping my fingers and getting in groove with a tune in my
head. Little did I know....
A picture of Jaculi and myself. Notice that they took off my glasses. I
don't look nearly as smart that way. They didn't worry about the fact that
my shoes haven't been tied since 1986. It is pretty obvious to me that this
particular picture was taken shorty before the ride. Jaculi wouldn't have
been smiling after the ride.
