Release Valve ------------- ( Lyrics Copyright © 2000 Anthony J. Garot ) He's driving down the night road, remembering what she said. He wears a face of stone, but he cannot mask his eyes. Another lie. He is consumed by her fear. Ashen gray, the night grows bold, and he drives down the road. The road sways in a trance, he glides down the silvery snake. He remembers what she said. He remembers what she did. Another lie. Eyes shine through him from the roadside… judging him quietly. They pierce his soul like spikes. He rounds a bend and turns down the one lane road. Shadows riddle the ground as clouds obscure the moon. Another lie. He doesn't feel the pain he should… but he knows it will come. He fears the pain. Where is the pain? He stops at the end of the road and turns off the engine. He sits waiting… peering out the windshield which enshrouds itself in fog. Another lie. It is now time… he gets out of the car and walks to the back. He opens the trunk. Tear stained eyes reach for his own… but he doesn't turn away. A muffled whine wafts toward him. Another lie. The glint of the blade flashes as he raises it. He stops. She is what she is and nothing more. His anger is gone he feels no pain. Another lie. In a moment of glory he makes the ultimate choice. To be a god, he must play the part and pay the price.
