MR1—Open Source Document Control Software

This is a Document Control system for use as the interface between a business's
manufacturing and engineering functions. Additional
functionality anticipated: Materials Requisition Planning
(MRP), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and Quality
processes (QA).

MRP involves the correlation of sales or build forecast
estimates and sales order requirements to materials
purchasing scheduling and purchase requisition generation.
Materials are defined as individual items, exploded
BOMs, etc.

ERP involves the above as it relates to resources,
e.g. production systems and personnel, work schedules, etc.
Manufacturing routings (kind of like a BOM, but for
resources...these parts of a BOM go through the shop
floor this way, those that way...) are also handled
here, and the data holds an estimate of time required
for each operational step.

QA involves materials dispositions, including the
process of tracking serial numbers, workflow & workers
for a build, handling returns and tracking physical
inventories.
