Lotto and I arrived around 12:30pm, and the Park Office was closed until 1:00pm,
so we drove around the park for awhile. Round about this time, something
bizarre starting hitting meI started feeling nauseous. It was right after eating
an energy bar from HyVee. Driving around made me feel car sick. Lotto said he
felt it too. Probably dehydration.
Near the Park Office was a little path. We still had some time, so we decided to
take it. It turned out to be very short, ending at a strange circle with painted
rocks surrounding it. It was somewhat ill-kempt, but had some interesting
flora. There were also a lot of bees and butterflies.
It is difficult to get a decent shot of a butterfly that doesn't want to be
photographed.
Our cabin just happened to be the one that was last cleaned. Finally we got
keys and headed over.
The cabin was pretty nice. As you can see, it has a kitchen area, a refrigerator,
a table, etc.
The kitchen isn't state-of-the-art, but it did the job. Lotto was in charge
of food. We had nachos.
The bathroom was acceptable. I don't think they have soap dispensers at the
Ritz Carleton . . . .
The back porch had a view of the Missouri River. Lotto and I sat out on the
porch once evening came.
The BBQ area. I guess this is where one would roast marshmallows if one were
so inclined. This is also where you would clean the birds that you shoot.
