Walnut ck lake
We started our adventure by heading along I-80 West. Our initial intent was to see Platte River State Park, but we took an early turn and headed toward the 50 instead. Along the way I spotted a sign for Walnut Creek Lake and Recreation Area. Ok then, our first stop.

Julie on toy
It was a nice little park with a cement walking/running path and a playground. Julie tries one of the toys.

Trees in lake
One notable about this lake is the trees in the center. A housing development shows that recreation areas are often popular attractions for homes.

Signs
There are fish in the lake.

Pet stencil
They would like you to keep your pets on a leash.

Julie walnut ck lk
Julie walks back from checking out the water. Julie doesn't like the cold much and so wears a heavy winter coat even though the temperatures were in the upper forties.

Willows
A field of willows.

Marking inside tunnel
I found a drainage tunnel and decided to investigate. Unfortunately, the shot of the tunnel failed, but inside the tunnel I found these markings. 1996. So it is fairly recent.
