We took the 75 south through rural Nebraska. This is the first time I
had been this far south in the state. It looks a lot like Wisconsin,
where I grew up.
Along the way, we saw two Pamidas. While passing the first one,
Lotto started yelling "Pamida! Pamida!" At the second one, I
had to stop to take pictures.
Lotto at Pamida.
Turns out the Pamida headquarters is in Omaha.
Arriving at the park, we received a map and headed to the northernmost
trail, i.e. Trail 1. A couple nearby told us that there was a horse
trail sign that was hidden in the weeds. Why he told us that information
was food for speculation until we actually came upon the sign.
The trail was in pretty good shape, mostly because horses use it. Four
horses passed us twice in our circuit.
A butterfly.
The trails weren't too hard to follow. Signs pointed the way and where to avoid.
The trails went through a substantial wooded area.
Whether horses cut this groove, or it was assisted by rain or machine is not known.
It is a deep cut.
